VOCATIONAL TRAINING

It is designed to extend the range of experiments and to provide a more detailed analysis of the engine performance.  The computer system is set up to monitor and record key data values such as engine speed, torque, multiple temperature points, fuel flow, air flow and others.

The program features a graphic interface which enables the data to be viewed “real time” as the experiments are being performed.  This provides for accurate monitoring of the engine during testing.  During the tests, the data is stored in the computer so that a detailed analysis can be done after the experiment is completed.  As a result, this system enhances the experience of the student by enabling detailed monitoring and analysis of the engine’s performance under varying conditions.

The system can be configured for a wide range of applications starting from basic monitoring of engine power (torque and speed) to higher end applications which include all of the sensors for full thermodynamic applications.  In simpler systems the data can be output to a spread-sheet program for display, printing and production of graphs.  For the more complex systems, it is recommended that the special Data Analysis Software  be included as it is set up with specific graphs and outputs to view the system performance and thermodynamics characteristics.  Both the Data Acquisition Software  and the Data Analysis Software  are set-up and ready for use, in addition they also allow students to create their own tests as well as graphs and charts outputs.

The "electrical installation trainer" "is designed to provide students with a good foundation in electrical technology, and to prepare them for a career as an installation / service technician. The system consists of a number of modules which are suitable for the study of electrical measurement, electrical installation and for the troubleshooting of electrical installations

Each module contains real electrical components such as contactors, switches, lamps, push buttons, timers, circuit breakers and relays. These modules can be arranged on the panel frame stand in a variety of configurations to make many different and interesting installations. Connections between the components or between the modules are made using 4 mm test leads which plug into 4mm color-coded heavy-duty binding posts. This will then allow the students to do the wiring quickly and with many variations, so that the learning will become more interesting and effective.

The trainer comes complete with laboratory manual which contains many experiments on electrical installation technology. Bench top or mobile training frame stands is available to mount the panels. Also storage cabinets can be added to provide a convenient place to stove the panel modules.

These sectioned engines with transmissions are proven to be one of the most useful demonstration aids used in an automotive classroom.  The complete engine and transmission has been carefully sectioned to expose all of the internal operational details.  All major parts have been sectioned including the engine block, transmission, alternator, distributor, carburetor, starter motor, water pump, thermostat, oil filter, fuel pump, etc.    

When demonstrating the operation of the engine all key working parts may clearly be seen therefore showing the student the function and inter-relationship between the components.  Sectioned areas have been beautifully finished and color coded for easy identification.

A variety of models are available which incorporate different engine technologies.  Such models feature overhead valves (OHV) or overhead cams (OHC), in-line cylinder configuration versus horizontal (Flat) type or transverse, 4 cylinder or 3 cylinders (with counter balance mechanism).  Other models offer high performance features such as electronic fuel injection (E.F.I), electronic ignition, turbo-charger and multi-valves.

The engine may be turned over by a hand crank or the optional electric motor (Z) may  be ordered which rotates the engine at a reduced speed for safety.  Engine and  transmission are mounted on a sturdy  steel stand which is fitted with wheels for easy mobility.  Each engine is supplied with a workshop/service manual for reference.  Other model  engines  are available upon request, such  as for 3, 6 and 8 cylinder petrol engines.
